Hello everyone, Things are constantly evolving in the complex world of Bow Thayer and Perfecttrainwreck. First off we want you to please visit the web sites, yes there are two at the moment, www.perfecttrainwreck.com and www.bowthayer.com for any info you may desire. Most of Bow's albums are up on bandcamp (accessible from the sites) for listening and downloading. Our web-master Julie is working hard to tweak the sites into submission to make things easier, so  keep checking back and please give us your ideas and opinions because they really do mean so much to us. With bassist Jeremy out traveling the world with the legendary Booker T (man what a gig!!!) Bow and Jeff have gone into the realm of POWER DUO! And have discovered a way to make a banjo and drum set sound good, we will be doing it at Atwoods Tavern this Saturday eve in Cambridge MA. Also the full band freak out will be happening at the Tunbridge town hall on April 10. The show is nearly sold out! so go to www.perfecttrainwreck.com to get tix. Lamb Abbey - Tomorrow Nite!

Hello folks, We want to spread the word about Bow Thayer and Perfecttrainwreck doing the Lamb Abbey this saturday night on the 6th of March. For all of you who felt constricted at the Chandler music hall back in January ,the Lamb Abbey has plenty of dancing room along with a very lofty party vibe. It is BYOB and the band will kick it off around 9ish and that 10 bucks at the door will get our record a little bit closer to finished. Hello music fans, Just a reminder that our Chandler Music Hall show is this Saturday! In order to have the best choice of seats, we highly recommend buying your tickets in advance. They're going fast. We've had many questions about whether or not dancing will be allowed at the show. Although it is a seated show, getting up and dancing will be encouraged. There's plenty of room in the aisles, in the back, and in the balcony. We're so excited about playing in such a beautiful theater for such a great cause. We're going to be playing most of the songs off the soon-to-be-released Trainwreck album, "Buffalo Joe", with some old favorites thrown in, of course. Bow will also be playing a few songs off his new solo project, "Shooting Arrows at the Moon". As if that's not enough, we have two of the best songwriters we know, Tim Gearan and Jimmy Ryan, opening the show. This is going to be a night of world class music. Hello music lovers, The tradition continues, Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck will be rocking in the New Year at the Clear River Tavern in Pittsfield, VT. The Clear River house band will be playing an early set until 10 and Perfect Trainwreck will be rolling by 11 and will not stop until we are well into 2010! For more info or to book a room in the Inn call 802-746-8999. The Clear is our favorite Tavern and home of our first gig, it is located on the VAST trail system so it is accessible by snowmobile. Also we want to inform you all that Perfect Trainwreck will be playing a show at the Chandler Music Hall in Randolph, Vt on January 30th. All the proceeds to this event will go into the renovations this wonderful theater needs. The Chandler is a century old theater and a great place to see a show and so the band is taking this opportunity to put on a doozy. Opening the show will be a set by Jimmy Ryan and Tim Gearan. Jimmy is a masterful mandolin player and songwriter and longtime friend of Perfect Trainwreck. He's got roots in the Burlington area and was the founder of the acclaimed Blood Oranges and has played in countless acts in and around Boston. Tim Gearan is equally amazing, his songwriting sensibilities are world class and his voice is as powerful and honest as you can get. If you missed him at the Tweed River festival this past summer this is your chance to catch him with Jimmy in this rare duo performance. There will also be special guests sitting in with the Perfect Trainwreck as well as new songs, we really want to urge folks to buy tix in advance as we want to see this local, historic, theater become a favorite room for us and a draw for international acts. We are very lucky to have such a unique hall in central Vt and feel it very important to bring it to it's full potential to present many culturally rich performances in the future. Shooting Arrows at the Moon

Hello good people, I am writing to inform all of you that I have completed an intimate, stripped-down recording of some new and not-so-new tunes. The record is called "Shooting arrows at the moon" I can honestly say this project just happened out of the Blue here in Vermont at my friend Kristina Stykos's Pepperbox studio. What excites me about this record is the spontaneous informality of it all, there was no real intention or pressure to produce an album so what we have is some music that had been written then abandoned and songs that were recorded in their infancy. The latter including three songs that will be on an upcoming release by Perfect Trainwreck. I hope that that you will enjoy hearing how these songs translate from a voice and guitar (or banjo) to a whole band production. Also featured on this record is the wonderful fiddle playing of Patrick Ross who is an award-winning violinist and founding member of the group Blue Merle, as well as Kristina playing guitar and singing back up. It's crazy what talent lurks in these ancient hills. Anyway, buy this record: it is good for your soul, it's good for your ears, and it will make a great gift for any one who likes songs about death, birth, parenthood, love, addiction, confusion, hope, and the general state of the human condition. August Shows

Hey there folks. We are in the midst of the Dog Days of summer and things are rolling along in nutty world of the Perfect Trainwreck. The band is in the middle of recording a new record with basics in the can, recorded again at Levon Helm studios. The 200% humidity can attribute to some FAT drum sounds and downright juicy bass frequencies! This week the Trainwreck embarks at The Wallow in Clay Hollow in Piermont NH. This is a festival that has been an annual stop in the past few years, however this year it has been downsized to a really cool mountain top party with Perfect Trainwreck as the only band, playing two long sets on Saturday Aug 15th. There is plenty of room for camping and only a $10 donation, The weather is looking gorgeous so if the rain kept you away from all the other outdoor fests this summer now is the time to pack the cooler, and break out the tent and grill and make your way over to Indian Pond Rd in Piermont NH for a great night of dancing beneath the stars. Some other more scaled down events include Bow playing an intimate solo gig at the 3 Bean Cafe' in Randolph VT on Thursday the 13th at 6ish p.m.. and Bow and Jeff doing a duo show @ the Purple Crayon arts center in Woodstock Vt Aug 15 at noon (before going over to the Wallow In Clay Hollow) Also if you are in the Boston area Thurs Aug 27th The Band will be doing a show at Passim in Cambridge MA. (they now have a beer and wine license) Be on the lookout for a release of Bow's new solo record coming out in a few months. Lamb Abbey, New Record, and a Ramble...

Howdy Folks! Perfect Trainwreck is plowing through the cool Northeastern rain again with some up-coming gigs! This Friday 9pm The Lamb Abbey Montpelier Vt This will be our second time here and it is a great place! Plenty of room for dancing, and you can bring your own beverages! There will be a $12 suggested donation to keep this place going. Sat at noon brings Bow solo to a BBQ at spruce peak in Stowe, all are welcome. Sat night the band will be performing another private outdoor show, so help us pray for some dry weather. Sunday at noon brings Bow, Jed, and Jeff to the Harpoon Brewery BBQ festival in Windsor, Vt. The band would like to Thank everyone who braved the torrential downpours during 4th of July weekend and came out to the 1st Tweed River Music Festival. The weather really kept our numbers down but because of the spirit of the event and all the wonderful bands we consider it a huge success and there will be another next summer. We were very fortunate not to go completely into the red and we were able to match our expenses (not bad for a bunch of unorganized musicians). Next week sees the Perfect Trainwreck off to Woodstock, NY to make another record, culminating in yet another appearance at the Midnight Ramble. So if anyone out there would like to sponsor a house concert or try anything creative to generate some dinero to help us pay for these sessions, by all means step right up! Festival Weather - Looking Up!

Hello everyone, Bow and the guys and an army of volunteers are getting things ready for this weekend's Tweed River Music Festival. We figured that since there was so much rain over the past couple weeks that those clouds would have rained themselves out... well, it looks like that is likely to happen but it will be down to the wire. The latest weather forecast for the Stockbridge area on Friday is partly cloudy with a chance of showers and then Saturday intervals of clouds and sun with only the chance of a scattered shower. The temperatures will be below normal (highs around 70, lows around 50)... so, here's the scoop: The Festival is happening, rain or shine. There is a tent for some audience shelter but it is not large enough for the entire crowd so please do bring umbrellas, tarps, raincoats just in case. Temperatures are likely to dip at night (50s) so bring some warm clothes. Despite all of the rain we have had recently, the Festival grounds stayed quite dry. We are all committed to having fun.. oh, and did you see the incredible line-up of music you are in for? So no matter what nature throws our way we will make the most of this occasion and have a fantastic time! It just occurred to me that this is very much in keeping with the Trainwreck... things can look good, then bad, then worse... then it all seems to work out -- let's trust to positive karma, dear friends, and great music! Tweed River Music Festival - July 3-5

Hello folks, Here is a reminder to get your tickets in advance for the first ever Tweed River Music Festival. They can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/68174. For all other information that you need go to www.bowthayer.com. What this is all about is the epitome of what a grass roots Vermont music festival should be. The boys who make up Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck along with local volunteers have banded together to create what is sure to be a great weekend of original music, good vibes, and one heck of a party! But it is mainly up to the people who show up. Over the years we have met so many interesting people and we feel this is an excellent way to get as many as we can together. The great thing about this particular event is that it is being put on by musicians donating there time, there is no big promoter trying to make a buck, and the cost of admissions is to cover the necessities (a list that seems to keep growing). The spirit of this event will dictate if it is successful or not. The best festivals are the ones that are not overhyped or overcrowded. We have a limit to how many folks can come (another reason to get tix in advance); the biggest, most popular festivals were at their best in infancy. This is exactly where we are at with the Tweed: how many places can you show up, pick a camp spot, bring you own cooler, listen to great music, and have access to one of the sweetest swimming holes in the area?! Although we have many volunteers, including EMT certified and first response attendants, you will not be corralled around to specific sites to camp, party, listen to music, etc... Recent additions: We are proud to announce that we have added Kris Delmhorst an Jeff Foucault to the Saturday line-up. there will be a fireworks display there will be Vendors on the grounds. Please remember to bring the kids, they get in for free! But please leave your dogs at home. Be ready to be as self-sufficient as possible: water, tent, rain gear, bug spray, sun screen, flashlight, sleeping bags, ice. There will be no alcohol sold on the premises so bring you own, and please try to shy away from bottles, also we would like to ask that people bring their own trash bags. There are small markets in the area to get this kind of thing if you forget something. Hello everybody, Sorry! Due to an egregious webmaster error the following information was not included in the Fans List message sent earlier this week: The Lamb Abbey Montpelier Vt. April 25 This is a new venue, a large warehouse with plenty of room for dancing. Take rt 2 out of town towards Plainfield and make a left at the light at Montpelier wood stoves then take another left on Pioneer rd. It is situated right on the river with plenty of parking. There is a $10 cover and you can bring your own beverages. This place has much potential, after the closing of Middle Earth Music Hall this could prove to be the venue central Vermont is craving.
