The glories of spring are right around the corner and old man winter finally decided to pay us a visit with a generous dumping of the white stuff… we will take it!
March is notorious for its snow storms up here in Vermont and it makes for excellent high terrain activity--so don't put away your snow shoes, snowboards, skis, and sleds yet. In fact tune ‘em up and get your tickets for the Tweed River Winter Carnival being held at Pico Mountain Ski Resort on Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24.
The success of the summer Tweed Festivals has inspired us to keep the ball rolling right into the winter/spring seasons and this sure to be a grand time.
SCHEDULE
Kicking off on Friday night in the upstairs, Last Run Lounge in a cozy old school Vermont ski lodge will be original and local stylings of FlowtingBridge, the original old time stomp of Goldtown, and the serious rockings of Burlington's Waylon Speed. You know that Perfect Trainwreck will be making it to the stage as well.
Saturday is expected to be a bright and warm, perfectly sunny spring day for green mountain euphoria and high terrain adventure. Plan on skiing, snowboarding, or join the guided snowshoe hike out to Coaches backcountry kitchen for a lunch fit for a king… or sit in the lounge around the field stone fireplace drinking hot toddies.
Music will kick off at around 1:30 with the acoustic sounds of The Holy Plow and the groovy bluegrass sounds of The Crunchy Western Boys, followed by Scott Ricutti and Pistol Whipped at 5pm. Music will be FREE during the afternoon and apres ski and then we will turn the lower main room of the lodge into a concert hall.
The evening begins with Township warming the stage for Tweed favorite and Boston's own Andrea Gillis. Next White Dynamite will bring their brand of garage rock, featuring Allston Rock City’s finest action figures, these guys are sure to entertain. The night will close with Bow Thayer & Perfect Trainwreck rocking some NEW TUNES from the album currently being recorded.
There is limited capacity for this event so get tickets at tweedrivermusicfestival.com and keep visiting the sites for more info and additional events to be announced. We look forward to seeing you all there! Hope for snow… then sun!
